Dear Colleague:
Year after year, the breadth and complexity of the software
engineering profession increases. New and important practices,
methodologies, languages, tools, and techniques constantly
come into existence. As much as the software development
profession has evolved since the advent of software
engineering several decades ago, software development is still
both an engineering discipline and an art form. As such, it is
uniquely important that software development professionals
come together to share and exchange ideas. The benefit of such
collaboration is two-fold: 1) to help ensure the continued
improvement of software quality in general and 2) to
participate in career development, a component that is often
lacking in our jobs.
To address these issues, the Software Engineering Institute
created the Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) since
the inception of SEI. SPIN consists of regional groups that
meet and share such experiences as the use of modern software
development methodologies, software team dynamics, initiating
and sustaining software process improvement programs, and
more.
Atlanta is a strong center of software development activity.
Naturally, Atlanta has had a productive SPIN for several
years. This year in particular has been a great year for
Atlanta SPIN. We have had free monthly meetings that feature
presentations by both local and well-known experts.
Participation has been great!
As a volunteer organization that does not charge its members
for monthly meetings, we rely on corporate and individual
sponsorship contributions to achieve our goals. Corporate
sponsorship lasts one year from the start of sponsorship, and
is win-win. The more sponsorship we have, the more value we
can bring to the Atlanta software development community.
Benefits to you and/or your organization include contributing

support of Atlanta software process improvement community. A
list of sponsorship levels and appreciation benefits is below.
Our board member volunteers are continually taking steps to
ensure SPIN provides the most value possible. We are excited

As the scope of each signature event
will vary from one year to the next, the board will
determine, prior to each signature event, what
sponsorship opportunities will be available. |

Additionally, you may
sponsor a typical meeting (not a special event) with a minimum
$100 contribution. This sponsorship would help cover
costs for a particular meeting such as room fee or cost of
refreshments. To be a special event sponsor contact the SPIN
board. As a meeting sponsor we will:
- include a "sponsored by" mention of
organization and URL link in the event announcements and
postings,
- provide reserved seating (5) for staff & guests at
the event
- allow the organization to set up a product/brochure
table at the event
