Become a Speaker at an Atlanta SPIN Meeting
We are always looking for interesting presentations to deliver to our members. If you would like to deliver your presentation to Atlanta SPIN members please read the following summary:
What the Atlanta SPIN board needs from you before we schedule you to deliver the presentation:
- A paragraph describing your experience in a field.
- Abstract of your presentation.
- A list of other presentations that you have done before.
- Preferred month to give your presentation.
Submit your presentation proposal via email to the Vice President by clicking here. The Atlanta SPIN board will then evaluate your submission along with others that have been submitted and decide on its acceptance.
The following information will help you prepare the presentation:
We usually get between 40 and 50 people attending a meeting.
Our members frequently have diverse backgrounds. We have some members from Level 4/5 CMMI companies, and some that are new to software processes. Most of them attend our meetings or review past presentations to learn of processes that they can apply in their organizations. We archive our presentation slides on our website so visitors can review past presentations. Most of our members are looking for practical things that they can try in their organizations. They are interested in activities that do work and some examples of activities that don't. They want to be more competitive and knowledgeable after your presentation.
You'll need to plan on coming 15 - 30 minutes before the meeting. Atlanta SPIN will provide a projector and microphone (we ask all speakers to use a microphone to ensure people in the back can hear). Atlanta SPIN will print slide handouts. The speaker needs to email the presentation slides in PowerPoint format to the Atlanta SPIN Vice President board two weeks prior to the presentation date.
