2009 Call for Board Members

As the end the year approaches, it is once again time to reach out to our members and select new board of director talent. You, as a director, should be willing to contribute 8-12 hours a month to support the activities and growth of the Atlanta SPIN and our members. This includes the 4 – 5 hours a month dedicated to general meetings and Board of Directors meetings. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the decisions that will continue to shape one of the top globally recognized SPIN organizations. Also, by serving as a director, you will work closely with other thought leaders, strengthening your leadership skills and career portfolio. You need not be a process geek to participate on the Atlanta SPIN board – we are seeking leaders with a broad range of skills and business experience to join the team and drive our organization forward.

To be a Director of the Atlanta SPIN you must:

  • Actively participate in board meetings (currently, 1st Wednesday evening of every month). The meetings typically last 2 to 2.5 hours.
  • Participate in SPIN board e-mail list discussions and other committee functions. This is where most of the work is done
  • Do not miss more than 25% of board meetings.
  • Take ownership of short-term activities and long-term goals. Short-term tasks include: attracting meeting speakers, helping with meeting logistics, location setup, refreshments, presentation slides, etc.; long-term goals include: attracting sponsors, promoting SPIN, defining new activities, etc.
  • Participate in SPIN general meetings (currently, 3rd Wednesday evening of every month). The meetings typically last 2-2.5 hours.
